UPDATE FROM 9TH August:-

Hi Everyone,

Just back from the Spey Valley. Had a great time and now back looking to make the Former Players and Friends of CRFC sponsor day a fantastic day.

My email is causing me problems so could you please send any emails to me at new email address
and the zetnet address

There are a few more additions (see below) to those coming along. There are still loads more people who will come if asked. I reckon 3 out of every 4 people I ask are going and the remainder can't make that day.

If every person asks one other person then we will have a sell out event.

I'm looking to start taking money in for those attending. Can you please send £45 per person to me:

Pay: Cumnock Rugby Club
Send to: Morton Houston
103 Loudoun Street, Mauchline KA55BH

If you need to speak to me my details are below and also please check out and contribute to the CRFC blog site (address below).

The first team won their first friendly yesterday. They beat Strathaven 28-24. The average age of the Cumnock team was 19 and would have been 18 if Kevin Brady had dragged the average age up.

Next week they play Carnoustie at home 2pm kick off. This is followed by a family BBQ so come along if you can make it and see the young boys in action.

Jim Donnelly - got your email and your on the list. Looking forward to seeing you.
Bob Hunter - got yours as well see you on the 10th if not before.

See you all soon,

Morton

Sam you gave me a list of possibles. Are you able to contact any of these? Are you Steven and Alan (and Isobel) going?

What about Tam Mitchell and his cowboy bits?

Rodger are you coming along? We need a weegot to counter wee Mick.

I’m off on my hols to sunny Netheybridge.

Does everyone know there is a BBQ at the club following the Carnoustie game on the 15th (KO 2pm). This should be a great chance to see the new team.

Kestrels at Cumnock

Glasgow Kestrels vrs Dumfries & Galloway Bulls Under 15 game

Quick passes through gap in middle of line, same move both times, 14-0 Kestrels
The Kestrels broke through from Bulls 22 and other from own half for tries moving ball through a gap by passing quickly along line of backs. Both in middle of line though. 14-0 Kestrels

Kestrels scored another with right to left move from the 22, just a pass out wide for the try, it was converted and made it 21-0 to the Kestrels.

Half time Kestrels vrs Bulls 21-0
Bulls have tried to move forward, but sometimes make the wrong passing options. The Kestrels did keep going forward and got through with good passing.

Under 5 minutes in 2nd half and scored another try they worked through a long distance move to score a try (didn’t see much) 28-0

Next try was from 10 metres away from a scrum and back passed left to one of the backs and the back involved ran through a couple of players to score a try. Kestrels 33-0 Bulls

Bulls finally score after about 20 minutes in 2nd half has a player run and get past a few players from about 20 metres on the left hand side of the pitch to score a try. 33 Kestrels 7 Bulls after the conversion.

Good link up play from the Kestrels from their own half. Kestrels just kept good passing move, avoiding any tackles which could stop Kestrels from scoring try. After conversion it was Kestrels 40 Bulls 7.

Kestrels ran from their own half from left to right along length of pitch for final try. Conversion was short so the game finished 45-7 to the Kestrels.
