Cumnock RFC mini/midi Reports for 27/09/09

Primary 4

The boys had an early start today travelling to Stewartry for their annual tournament with a few regular players missing and Bailey, Blair and Matt playing their first game of rugby this was always going to be a hard day for the boys.

The team got off to a great start in their fIrst game securing a convincing victory against Moffat with Adam and Rob scoring 3 tries each and Jamie and Bailey picking up one apiece. The second game against hosts Stewartry was a tougher game ending in a draw. Rob and Adam combining well with 2 tries each. Adam also picked up the man of the match award in this game.

Lack of substitutes saw the boys tiring and losing their last two games against Ayr and eventual overall winners Dumfries with Rob, Jamie and Adam adding to their try tallies.

A good all round performance from the team, WELL DONE BOYS!

Primary 6

Cumnock P6s had a interesting time at Stewartry turning up short handed and then having one player injured in the warm up and another in the first half of the first game.
However the remaining players rolled up their sleeves and gave a good account of themselves. They had 2 early loses against Stewartry and Dumfries followed by an impressive draw against Moffat. Adam Carballo and John Watt received man of the match awards in 2 of the games and the rest of the players acquitted themselves well as well.
